You Say Psycho, I Say Psyche.

Today I realized that men tremble at the word "psycho".

Tack it on to the end of any sentence, especially in the context of describing a girl, and they are sure to run and hide.

For instance:

"I can be a little pyscho."
"I can assure you, I am NOT psycho."
"What did you say about being psycho?"
"He broke up with you because you were psycho?"

...crickets chirping...

I feel the need to clear up this misconception of a girl being psycho. It is simply the word used to describe a girl when the standards instilled and taught to us at a young age (ie. treat others with respect, be considerate of others' feelings, don't let a man step all over you, be independent, know your worth) have been deeply violated. And why do we rage? Because...when our kindness, consideration, and throughtful actions have been taken for granted, what else would we do!?

In any case, there are many references to girls being 'crazy'. And equally the amount of references of men being 'pigs' or just plain 'dumb'. As RC put it, the only way for us girls to get past this is to find a boy who can take our "crazy" and we'll sacrafice taking the "dumb". So how do we know much compromise to make? That is where this story takes a fateful turn.

There is no compromise necessary. Girls, you be who you are. Guys, you do your thang. You're "crazy" to one guy might be just the perfect hook to not only the man of your dreams, but the right one.

Can you avoid the "crazy" in a girl? Not likely. And this is because the smart ladies out there will turn the "crazy" off at the beginning. But once the men are (as SF put it) "in the cave", you can be assured we will release our crazy all the way, at that point - just because we can.

Moral of this story: Ladies, if we just learn to choose our battles wisely and not waste our time and effort trying to please a man, we're bound to land that gentleman who is more than willing to bend for us, and sweep us off of our feet - just as our nuturing, loving hearts deserve. Don't you dare settle for any less!

Although, if you want to see a comical (so extreme that it's unlikely) case of "psycho", a mini series that JC has shared: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMoGj9QtZts
